January 2008 NCFI Matters
Week 1	Thank God for Kamalini Kumar, President and Vice-President Sam Mbok of the NCFI Board. Pray for them for wisdom in leading NCFI. Pray also for God's guidance in choosing new leaders this year.
	Pray for David Parfitt, part time NCFI administrator, as he co-ordinates the preparations for the NCFI 50th Anniversary Conference.
	For a good attendance at the NCFI conference in Jos, Nigeria from 14 to 18 Sep. For provision for delegate's travel and registration expenses; for safe travel; for peace and fellowship.
	Thank the Lord for John White, financial advisor for NCFI and his contribution to making financial matters clear and sound to the Board.
	Thank God for Tove Giske and her work in co-ordinating all Abstracts for the conference. Pray for all those whose Abstracts were accepted as they make preparations for God's Guidance
	Thank God for funds received for sponsorship of those, from less well developed countries, who cannot afford all the costs for the Jos conference. Pray also for the general running of NCFI.
	Thank God for partnerships with HCFI. Pray that we will learn to work together to make the Kingdom of God and His love evident in the field of health.
Verse of the week 1 Corinthians 15:58	ITherefore my dear brothers, stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourself fully to the work of the Lord because you know that your labour is not in vain
Week 2	EUROPEAN REGION
	Denmark - pray for the Board of DKS, Kristi, Kirsten, Gerda, Lisbeth as well as Annette (staff worker), Ingrid and for new members to join the board. Pray for nurses in Greenland, Faeroe Islands, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Turkey, Cyprus, Greece and the Netherlands. Pray for contacts in these countries.
	Finland - Pray for the meeting on 12 July, that God will give His strength through His Word .A student nurse, Milla Aalto-Vainio, is speaking on "How to use Psalms in spiritual care". . Pray for God's blessings and guidance in all the preparations for the 60th anniversary of SSKS, on 18-19 November 18-19 and the accompanying seminar. Pray for Santa in Latvia whose father has recently died and also pray for all nurses in Belarus, Estonia, Lithuania; Kazakhstan, Russia and Sweden. Greece and the Netherlands. Pray for contacts in these countries
Verse of the week Proverbs 3:5-6	Trust in the Lord with all your heart, lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight.
Week 3	Norway - pray for the membership of KFSS and the leadership of Torjborg Hopen and Tove Giske.
	Scotland - pray for the membership to grow, for God's leading in all the fellowship does in the future and for His empowering for that work; for the development of links with other Christian organisations in the health care sector and with those addressing ethical and moral issues.
	European Union & European Economic Area - please pray for all nurses in all countries within these areas as well as former countries in the Soviet Union.
	Spain - please pray for God's choice of new people to take responsibility and for the production of the magazine. Pray for student nurses to join and for God's enabling for those who are sick. For the NCF Spain meetings on 27 Sept in Madrid and 11 Oct in Barcelona. Praise the Lord for contacts in Portugal. Pray for nurses in Andorra, Croatia, Hungary, Macedonia, Poland and Serbia.
	England and Wales - pray for the work of CNM (Christian Nurses & Midwives) and for a day conference in taking place in Swindon on 25 October called "Standing up for the truth in the workplace". Pray for nurses in Israel, Ireland ,Malta ,Palestine and San Marino
Verse of the week: Ephesians 3:20	Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine according to his power at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever!
Week 4	NCFI CONFERENCE PREPARATIONS
	Pray for resources - scholarship funds and other resources needed to offset conference costs.
	Pray for the NCFI Conference speakers - for wisdom as they prepare for plenary sessions
	Pray for Swee Eng Goh, Alicia Baas, Barbara White, Vicki Vowell and Kamalini Kumar as they prepare materials for the Leadership Development track.
	Pray for the conference participants who have registered - that their hearts would be prepared for what God has in store for them. Pray also for others who need to attend the conference - that God will work in their hearts and that they would register soon.
	Pray for safety and protection for all who attend in their travels and during the conference.
	Pray for the Nigerian committee as they finalize details for the conference Pray also for Africa and the African nurses - that many will be able to attend the conference and be encouraged
Verse of the week: John 16:33	I have told you theses things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.
Week 5	PACIFIC AND EASTERN ASIA (PACEA REGION)
	Thank the Lord for Swee Eng Goh, Chieko Fukushima and Won Hee Lee, NCFI International Board members. Pray for the PACEA Region committee led by Dawn Capaque and give grace and strength to her.
	Japan - thank the Lord for Chieko Fukushima as she continues to lead the fellowship as Staff worker and Director. Pray that the Fellowship will grow and that God will raise up many others to help Chieko
	Philippines - pray for the leadership as many young nurses leave for abroad to find work. Pray for Phebe Pendon and her work for NCF.
	Indonesia - pray for strengthening of the fellowship that many will rise up as godly Christian leaders in their workplace. Pray for courage and godly life to testify as they work and serve in the largest Muslim population.
Verse of the week Matthew 24:42	Therefore keep watch because you do not know on what day the Lord will come.
Week 6	Pray that the Lord of the Harvest will raise up a regional staff member to help in the work of the NCFI PACEA Region.
	Staff Workers - Pray for the staff workers in the region : Hye Sook (S. Korea), Joanna Teoh and Kim Choo(Singapore), Merrill Tan and Darlene Pendon (Philippines), Chieko Fukushima (Japan), Rachel Fu (Hong Kong)
	Fiji - remember the Christian nurses of Fiji Islands. Pray for finances for those wanting to come to the NCFI conference in Nigeria
	Papua New Guinea - pray for the preparations for their national conference to be held on 20-24 October. Pray for the organizing team that they will be able to put everything together and for the members to be present at the conference
	Australia & New Zealand - continue to pray that God will strengthen the development of NCF in Australia and for the revival work of NCF in New Zealand.
Verse of the week 1 Peter 2:12	Live such good lives among the pagans that though they accuse you of wrong doing, they may see your good deeds and glorify God in the Day he visits us.
Week 7	AFRICAN REGION
	Nigeria - please pray for the FCN Conference Planning Committee as they prepare for the NCFI 50th Anniversary International Conference to be held in Jos, Nigeria from 14 to 18 Sep 2008. Pray for the Lord's anointing upon them
	Ghana - thank God for the growth of NCF work in Ghana. Pray for the leaders as they carry NCF work forward and also for resources to attend the conference
	Zambia - thank God for the impact NCF work is having on student nurses. Pray for resources for any to attend the conference also pray for the challenges being faced in the health field due to increased disease burden
	Zimbabwe - thank God for the NCF contacts and the group at Karanda Mission Nursing School. Pray for them as they face the political challenges in their country and that they will be a light in the pain and darkness of many.
	West Africa - thank God for the contacts made in Cameroon, Niger and Togo. Pray that they will grow and develop into active national NCF's
	Pray also for NCF members working in countries where there is no NCF for grace to be a light and influence the starting of NCF's in these areas.
Verse of the week 1 Thess. 5:16-18	Be joyful always: pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus
Week 8	CENTRAL ASIA & MIDDLE EAST (CAME) REGION
	Pray for NCFI International Board members, Chinnamma Mathew, Stacy Saha and Esther Sirra that the Lord will strengthen, encourage and empower them for Ministry in this vast region. Pray that several nurses fr from this region will be able to travel to the Nigeria Conference. We also ask for prayers for all those who are working in healthcare in Afghanistan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan.
	India - continue to pray that God will raise up a national co-ordinator for ENFI to carry out the administrative responsibilities of the organization. Pray for the safety of Christian nurses who have given themselves to ministering the word of God to their patients.
	Bangladesh - pray for Stacy Saha and the many nurses who are shining out the light of Christ in this country.
	Pakistan - please pray for all healthcare workers in this troubled country.
Verse of the week 2 Timothy 2:15	Do you best to present yourself to God as one approved. A workman who does not need to be ashamed, who correctly handles the word of truth.
Week 9	NCFI LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT
	Pray for the Leadership Development Team - for preparation of the leadership development program and for the many details of planning for the next four years. Thank God for the resources available to facilitate leadership development that the NCFI conference in Nigeria Pray for those who will attend the Leadership Development track that the Holy Spirit will work in their heart to be available for NCFI work. Pray for the success of National Leadership Development programme as they groom leaders for the future.
	CARIBBEAN AND NORTH AMERICA (CANA REGION) Thank the Lord for NCFI President, Kamalini Kumar and for Barbara White and Hope Graham, all International Board members from the CANA region. Pray for them as they fulfill their duties as leaders of the Nursing Profession in their respective countries.
	USA - pray for Pat Emery, Director of NCF USA and for continued growth and witness by NCF members and supporters in the US.
	Pray for continuing ministry to nurses through the Journal of Christian Nursing
	Canada - pray for the expansion of NCF work in Canada. We also pray for a return to good health for Carol Hamilton.
	Pray for contact with the many Christian nurses in the Caribbean countries. Pray that nurses from the Caribbean will be able to attend the NCFI Conference in Nigeria.
Verse of the week Hebrews 10:35	FSo do not throw away your confidence; it will be richly rewarded. You need to persevere so that when you have done the will of God you may receive what he has promised.
Week 10	LATIN AMERICA REGION
	Please pray that Latin America countries can improve their communication especially Mexico, Central America and Cuba. Thank God for the encouragement that the Latin American bulletin is bringing to the region
	Argentina -thanks to the Lord because Argentina Christian Nurses Fellowship is growing. New groups have been formed in Buenos Aires (Capital) and other provinces.
	Chile - pray that Chile can develop their work in places that were open in the past but currently closed.
	Peru - pray for new leaders in Peru who catch the vision and decide to go ahead with the Fellowship.
	Ecuador - pray for Christian Nurses in Ecuador because Margaret Corin, a former NCFI Coordinator will visit the country in July. She could encourage them to renew MEDEC (Ecuadorian's Christian Nurses Fellowship).
	Colombia - pray for the Grace Morrilo and the work in her country; that the Lord will enable the work to grow and unify the Christians nurses so they can better serve the Lord.
Verse of the week Isaiah 48:17	I am the Lord who teaches you what is best for you, who directs you in the way you should go
Week 11	NCFI Conference
	Pray for safe travel of all conference participants to and from the conference
	Pray for the international board meetings for wisdom in all decision making. Pray or effective communication.
	Pray for the international forum. Pray for understanding among members and for guidance in all decisions to be made
	Pray for the new board members and/or the new president ad vice president they will have the grace to carry on the work of NCFI. Pray for unity and understanding among them
	Pray for the Speakers and other seminar and paper presenters that they will the led by the Holy Spirit in their presentations ray for God's blessings upon all the listeners.
	Pray for all those participating in the conference that their hearts will be open to what God wants to minister to them.
Verse of the week Philippians 1:6	Being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus
Week 12	Thank God for the conference and for all who were able to attend. Pray that as they return to their countries they will be able to share with others.
	Pray for the new board members that they will know God's guidance in their service and also for effective communication.
	Pray for the successful implementation of the decisions made at the International forum and the Board meetings.
